With my Arsenal Chevron Cushion cover being famous among my family and friends, I decided to do another quick crochet project for my bro (Arsenal Theme again). This time something that he can use it all time (actually, whenever he wants to...)
On my visit, I found some lovely yarn in PonyCraftStore that I had to buy almost a dozen of them and I used the Red one for this project.
A simple half-double crochet Arsenal hat for my brother :)
Materials Required:
- Carmine Red and White Yarn (I used Nako Sport Wool)
- 6.5 mm Crochet Hook (Yarn recommends 7mm hook)
- Tapestry Needle (to sew the ends)
Abbreviations:
- ch- chain
- sc- single crochet
- hdc- half double crochet
- ss- slip stitch
Size:
- For adults [Head circumference : 22.5" - 24"]
Procedure:
NOTE: Chain 2 in the beginning of rounds is not considered as HDC
- Chain 4. Join with 1st chain made to form a ring.
- Chain 2. HDC 8 in the ring. SS with 1st HDC made. [8]
- Chain 2. 2 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 2 HDC into every stitch around. SS with the first HDC. [16]
- Chain 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *(1 HDC in the next, 2 HDC in the next)* . Repeat from *to* till the end. SS with the first HDC.[24]
- Chain 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 1 HDC into the next stitch. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *(1 HDC in the next two stitches, 2 HDC in the next)* . Repeat from *to* till the end. SS with the first HDC. [32]
- Chain 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 1 HDC into the next two stitches. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *(1 HDC in the next three stitches, 2 HDC in the next)*. Repeat from *to* till the end. SS with the first HDC. [40]
- Chain 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 1 HDC into the next three stitches. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *(1 HDC in the next four stitches, 2 HDC in the next)*. Repeat from *to* till the end. SS with the first HDC. [48]
- Chain 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 1 HDC into the next four stitches. 2 HDC into the next stitch. *(1 HDC in the next five stitches, 2 HDC in the next)*. Repeat from *to* till the end. SS with the first HDC. [56]
- Ch 2. 1 HDC in the same stitch as chain. 1 HDC in every stitch around. SS with 1st HDC.
- Rounds 10-16 --- Repeat Round 9.
- With White yarn --- Repeat Round 9 once. [56]
- With Red yarn --- Repeat round 9 --- 2 or 3 times.
- Ch 1. 1 SC in the same stitch as chain. 1 SC in every stitch around. SS with 1st SC. [56]
- Fasten off and weave the ends.
It was so simple and easy to make. It took almost an hour to complete it. Now I have the main part left to complete the hat ---- {Arsenal Logo}. I am gonna try that and only if its a HIT, I will post it here. Or atleast the way I tried, LOL. :)
